Our story

The Salty Caramel Kitchen started off in 2016 as a home-based cake business consisting of myself and my mom, Nicole. At the time there was nowhere to purchase vegan cakes so we were there to fill the void.

In 2018, we opened our little shop in the heart of Okanagan Centre, supplying not only our baked goods but a fully plant-based menu and speciality coffees.

Even though we don’t serve animal products, we strive to offer tasty meals and treats that will appeal to any diet. Right away we have had a great response from the community!

We try to use organic products when they are available to us and we are always looking to partner with local business to source everything from produce, to bread to our beverages. You can even find some of our products available at other local cafes and store. (See stockists) We are also always striving to try to keep things as eco-friendly as we can by using biodegradable materials and packaging. We even work with LC Compost to reduce our waste as much as possible.
